Together with our landlord, Akademiska Hus, we are creating modern and sustainable environments for education, research, and collaboration.

Luleå University of Technology, together with our landlord Akademiska Hus, is currently taking a holistic approach to future-proof and develop the entire campus in Luleå with modern and sustainable environments for education, research, and collaboration. We are now seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the project managers and the University Director in planning, organizing, and coordinating various activities within the "Future Campus Luleå" project. We work closely with our researchers, teachers, support staff, and students to ensure that our new campus provides LTU with the best possible conditions.

The Role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in this major transition. Several blocks on the university campus are to be built and renewed with new exciting laboratory environments, office spaces, and inspiring student and learning environments. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring smooth communication and that all relevant information reaches the right people, both internally and externally. This includes, among other things, organizing and participating in project meetings, relieving the project management, handling administration, minutes, diary registration, and independently leading parts of the project.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with the project group and the University Director, and you report directly to the Project Director.

Qualifications

For the role of Assistant Project Manager, the following are required:

  • Post-secondary education of at least three years
  • Experience of project management within construction, property, or local development projects
  • Experience of or good understanding of university or research environments
  • Ability to lead dialogues with many stakeholders, including academic staff and students
  • The position requires very good knowledge of Swedish as Swedish is the project's main working language.
  • Good knowledge of English
  • An engaged team player with an interest in project management and the desire to develop within the project
  • Self-motivated ability to drive your own areas of responsibility
  • Good administrative skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build trust, both internally within the organization and externally with other organizations.

It is meritorious if you have experience of working in different roles within an academic environment. It is also meritorious if you have experience of requirement setting, change management, and complex coordination.

You need to be a person who appreciates a work situation with high tempo, high pressure on issues, and many balls in the air at the same time.

Scope and Location

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager for a permanent full-time position located in Luleå. Probationary period may apply.
